The peer support movement is grounded in principles of mutuality, reciprocity, non-judgmental respect, and empathy, all of which can counter the negative impacts of trauma and support healing. Trauma-informed peer support offers opportunities for relationships to be based upon power-sharing and transparency and are consistent with those of domestic violence advocacy. This webinar will explore opportunities for domestic violence programs to consider components of peer support that can enhance trauma-informed services and advocacy, including support for survivors experiencing mental health crises.
