When behavioral health providers create safe spaces, individuals will begin to feel comfortable sharing their experiences with domestic violence (DV). These providers may be the first to offer support and connect people to DV resources. Domestic violence helplines provide compassionate support, advocacy, safety planning, and connections to services based on an individual’s preferences. This tipsheet offers strategies for providers to support clients when calling a DV helpline together.
