In 2013, NCDVTMH and the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD) administered a survey to state mental health department directors. This survey collected information about states’ trauma initiatives, with a focus on how they address issues that survivors of domestic violence often face. This report includes information on relationships between state mental health departments and domestic violence organizations, training and technical assistance needs, and ways states are incorporating domestic violence and trauma into their mental health policies and procedures.
