Background

This report presents the findings of a nationwide survey and three listening sessions with domestic violence (DV) advocates and behavioral health providers held in December 2022. Two hundred and twenty participants who work with survivors through advocacy, peer support, and direct services provided input on the challenges survivors experience in engaging with behavioral health (e.g. mental health and/or substance use) services and strategies used to overcome those challenges.
