A Systematic Review of Trauma-Focused Interventions for Domestic Violence Survivors


Many trauma interventions were originally developed to address events that occurred in the past (e.g., combat, childhood sexual abuse). However, IPV survivors often face ongoing abuse or stalking, which directly impact not only their physical and psychological safety, but treatment options as well. This paper reviews trauma-based treatments designed or modified specifically for IPV survivors and provides cautions and recommendations for moving forward.
